About Just Hair

Just Hair, Inc. is a locally owned private company.  William and his wife, Kim built Just Hair from the ground up.  Just Hair is located just outside Jacksonville Florida, in beautiful Fleming Island. William and Kim have been together since high school. Little did they realize building a business is very similar to building a relationship. You could say hair is in William's blood.  He grew up in the hair service industry as a child.  William remembers his childhood, getting hair splinters in his feet as he swept the floor of his parents salon in the early to mid-eighties.  Years after his parents chain of salons were sold, he had the desire to open his own salon.  William's Mother tried to talk him out of it, explaining how hard it is to be in business for yourself. Undeterred, he thought he could not only build a successful business, but do it better. In 1999, William had an idea to improve the hair service industry. He wanted to offer top service at a reasonable price. William wanted to fill the gap between the super high-end salon spas found at vacation destinations and the quick cut salons, similar to his parents salons, found on every corner. A year later, in 2000, William worked to find the right location and develop the idea into reality.  He had a vision to make Just Hair a local household name.  A place for great conversation and a sense of community.  A place where everyone could feel at home. Just Hair opened it's door in April 2000,  William and Kim quickly found out how tough business can be.  Pushing through the first few years when most would have failed, they failed to quit.  William realized that he would grow the business at a reasonable and steady pace. From the beginning, Just Hair set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated beauty, but that also brought a feeling of connection. A salon where men and women felt welcome, as well as their mother and father, sons and daughters. Our mission is to inspire and be inspired each day.  Every day, we go to work hoping to do two things: enhance our skills and make our neighbors feel more beautiful.  It was true when Just Hair opened in 2000, and it’s just as true today. Forward to 2007, William and Kim took the opportunity to grow and move the business.  It was a trying time, with real estate on the edge, most other businesses were not doing much. They found a new location about 5 miles from the original. They were excited about the move, only to have the the deal fall through months later. Disappointed, but with hope,  they continued to search for the right location. William and Kim moved Just Hair a few blocks away from the old location. It was the right move at the time. Steady on course and in the right direction with reasonable growth. Today, Just Hair is one of the top salons in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas. And with every snip of the shears, we strive to bring both our expertise and exceptional customer service to each of our clients.
